Surf Etiquette

It is possible to be seriously injured or to injure others when using a waveski. We must all behave responsibly and know our limits to avoid such accidents.

1 - Do not drop in

The surfer closest to the breaking part of the wave has the right of way. Always check around you (including the inside) before dropping in.

2 - Do not hog waves

3 - Maintain control

Never attempt a move when failure will cause you to collide with an other surfer!

4 - Do not paddle out through the break

Go around, it is safer and it will not spoil someone else's ride!

5 - Be polite

Trading insults and derogatory remarks only creates unnecessary incidents. Be nice with the others and they will be nice with you (hopefully!).

6 - Do not endanger others

Do not take off if you see that someone is paddling out and will be in your way. Let the wave go and wait for another one.

7 - Share the Ocean

Surfers were there fist, so we have to play the game according to their rules. Organized competitions will allow your ability to grow and you'll learn to share the waves. Join your local club by becoming a member!
